Dear Sun Spots: I know there are a lot of people out there who are willing to help our community.

I am a teacher assistant at Androscoggin Head Start at our Hillview Center site. Our budget is very tight, and we would like for each child to be able to have a pumpkin to take home to enjoy with his or her family. If anyone out there has any pumpkins to donate, we would sure appreciate it. We have 18 children in our classroom. Please contact me at (207) 795-4045 with your donation. Thank you very much, and our children thank you also! – Linda Beaudoin, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Could you please find me a place to find a blade for my pocketknife. It is a Stanley 10-049. I have been looking in all hardware stores as well as others but none of these places carries them. Thank you. – G.L., Auburn.

Answer: Sun Spots contacted Stanley Tools’ customer service department, which advises there are two replacement blades available for this knife. One is called a sheep foot and is part number 11-040. The other is a utility blade and is part number 11-041. Stanley advises that you contact a True Value or Ace Hardware store, which can order it through their warehouse. You can reach the Minot Avenue Ace store at 956 Minot Ave., Auburn, (207) 783-0447 or True Value at 1086 Sabattus St., Lewiston, (207) 783-4600.
