Waste director wins award
LISBON – Wayne Ricker, Lisbon’s Solid Waste Management director, was named “Manager of the Year” at the Maine Resource Recovery Associations’ 13th Annual Recycling and Solid Waste Conference.
Ricker was one of only five individuals, programs and businesses that were recognized for their contributions to waste reduction and recycling efforts during the annual awards ceremony.
Ricker, who left the conference before the awards were announced, was surprised to hear he had been selected.
Awards were presented to Carol Lambert of Mid-Coast Solid Waste, Volunteer of the Year; Doug Hamm, Readfield, Program of the Year; and Most Improved Program, town of Livermore, Juanita Bryant, supervisor.
