GREENE – Town Manager Charlie Noonan told selectmen Monday night that the Julian Adams Memorial Library expansion fund of $124,136 has been placed in a bank account that will roll interest back into the fund.

Previously, the interest was put into the town’s surplus account, but residents at the annual town meeting on March 4 voted to have the town reimburse the fund up to $12,000 for interest accrued in the past five years.

Noonan said he asked the bank holding the money to determine the average interest for the past five years.

“I have asked them to go back and get an average for the last five years. They are going to have to be the ones to do this task, seeing they have the files, not us,” he said.

Selectmen announced openings on the Capitol Improvement Committee, Greene Economic Community Development, Land Use Ordinance and the Planning Board.
