MEXICO — Police are searching for a West Paris man suspected in 10 burglaries over 18 days.

Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said Friday an arrest warrant had been issued for Heith Bernard, 41, on charges of burglary, theft and violation of conditions of release.

“We’ve been looking for him around the clock,” Hodsdon said. “We’ve exhausted all our leads for him at this point. Just hoping someone will see him or we’ll find him.”

Hodsdon said he believed Bernard was still in the area. The chief asked that residents keep their houses secured and contact the Police Department at 364-5686 if they see Bernard or have information related to him.

Hodsdon said police believe the 10 burglaries are all related because they were within a half-mile of one another.

The chief said the home burglaries have sparked fear.
