Dear Sun Spots: On Saturday, Aug. 13, the Greenwood Historical Society will host a reunion of students who went to the town of Greenwood elementary schools. SAD 44, cites confidentiality laws as a reason for not releasing us a listing of all students who attended the Greenwood schools, and therefore we are asking for the help of Sun Spots’ readers who may know of someone who attended the schools in years past. People having pictures of their classes or of the schoolhouses they would like to bring or have included in the displays, or see additional information on the reunion, are urged to contact either society co-President John Davis at (207) 743-9552 or Secretary Joyce Hathaway at (207) 674-2259.

The society’s Swan House and Bennett House, and the former primary room in the Locke Mills Village School will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature displays of student and school pictures at both sites. The classroom at the Locke Mills Union Church will also be open for those wishing to recall their attending Sunday School there. Light refreshments will be available during the reunion. Thanking you for your assistance. – John R. Davis, South Paris.

Answer: In addition to response from readers, you might consider checking the yearbooks for the years in question to find a listing of students to start you on your search. You will likely find these in the school library.
