County Republicans to meet Monday

SABATTUS – The Androscoggin County Republicans will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Mixers in Sabattus. A gubernatorial candidate, state Sen. Chandler Woodcock, will be the guest speaker. Other business will include election year goals, caucus and fund-raising events.

All county Republicans are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. Mixers is in a small strip mall directly across from Cumberland Farm on Route 126.

Food pantry collecting food, cash donations

LEWISTON – The Good Shepherd Food Pantry will collect donations and cash from the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Shaw’s supermarket in Auburn.

The pantry feeds 2,500 people in the Lewiston-Auburn area each month, 70 percent of whom are children under 12. Demand for services is expected to grow as the weather turns colder.

On Friday, Nov. 18, a bus will visit more than a dozen area businesses to collect items donated by workers.
