LEWISTON – An Augusta woman badly injured Tuesday when her minivan and a dump truck collided on Lisbon Street remains hospitalized.
A spokeswoman for Central Maine Medical Center said the condition of Leona Havens, 27, was upgraded Wednesday from critical to serious. She had to be extricated from her vehicle after the crash. Her 2-year-old son, Logan, was uninjured. Havens was outbound on Lisbon Street when her Plymouth minivan crossed the centerline and slammed into the axle on the driver’s side of the dump truck, driven by Patrick Morrison, 38, of Litchfield.
Police said the crash happened so quickly that Morrison wasn’t able to avoid it. He suffered a neck injury and was listed in good condition at the hospital.
