LEEDS – Selectmen have set the tax rate for the coming year at $21.30 per $1,000 assessed valuation, 50 cents less than last year.

The payment to SAD 52 is less than expected, and revenue sharing is expected to be about the same.

Sanitary district to meet

MECHANIC FALLS – The Mechanic Falls Sanitary District will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, at the district office at 56 Lewiston St.

Board seeks public comment

LEWISTON – The Workers Compensation Board will hold a public forum at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at its regional office at 36 Mollison Way. The forum will follow the board’s regular meeting, which begins at 9:30 a.m.

The board will receive public comments on issues relating to Maine’s workers compensation system.
