Vera D. Higgins
1911 – 2009

AUBURN – Vera D. Higgins, 98, of Auburn, died Friday, Dec. 4, at Montello Manor, where she had been a resident for the past 2 ½ years.

She was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, on Sept. 23, 1911, the daughter of the late Percy and Edna (Crouse) Morgan.

Vera married H. Russell Higgins on June 2, 1940. They made their home in Falmouth, prior to his passing in 1996. Following his death, Vera resided for 10 years with her son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Linda, in Auburn. Vera was an avid reader and spent time with her best friend Casey, the family Bichon.

She leaves a son, Robert Higgins and his wife, Linda, of Auburn; and two grandsons, Carl and Christopher Higgins, both of Gray.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Beulah Griffiths and Devota Arbo.
