Robert A Morin
1937-2009
Robert A. Morin, 72, of Jeannette Avenue, Lewiston, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Auburn on Dec. 3.
Born in Lewiston on Dec. 2, 1937. He was the son of Philip and Rea Rodrigue Morin. He was educated in Lewiston schools, including St. Mary’s and St. Dom’s.
Bob’s employment included Lewiston Crush Stone and B & E Enterprise. He also worked and managed at Holmes Transportation in Scarborough for several years until his retirement.
Bob will be remembered as a very strong, outgoing, proud man with a great sense of humor. Through the years, Bob developed many lasting friendships including those from coaching youth hockey players. Many of the players, up until his passing, would still come and visit him. He had a true love for the sport of hockey, being a devoted Montreal Canadiens fan, having seen his first game last winter in Boston with family.
One of Bob’s greatest enjoyments was spending time with his children and grandchildren, all whom he loved so much, and they all truly loved their grandpa, or “paypa.” He looked forward to all their activities and sporting events. Due to his love for hockey, he so enjoyed watching Casey and Coby play hockey for years, especially LHS, beaming with pride about his 19’s. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, including hunting, fishing , four-wheeling, snowmobiling or just being in the woods. His all time favorite place to be was his hunting camp in Lexington, otherwise referred by him as “Heaven.” He loved just being there with family and friends, including his faithful friend, “Jim Beam.”
The family will cherish in their hearts many great times spent with their grandpa at camp. Bob enjoyed many summers in Old Orchard Beach with family, including walks on the beach and eating his favorite fried clams and chinese food. Summer was never complete without them. In losing his battle to cancer, Bob displayed endless ambition, a positive attitude and never gave up. Bob helped create who his children are today, therefore his legacy of being a goodhearted person will continue.
He was truly a special man and will be greatly missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him. Bob was surrounded by family and friends until his passing. He and his daughter had an inside joke, telling each other all the time to “rest or relax.” His time has come to rest and relax and watch over us from Heaven, and we know he will.
He is survived by his wife Jane, of Lewiston; three sons, John and his
wife, Joline, of Greene, Paul and his wife, Noreen, of Lisbon and Todd
and his wife, Lisa, of Auburn; a daughter, Heidi and husband, Dan, of
Lewiston; grandchildren include, Brandon and Ashley Morin, Chelsea,

siblings include his sister, Doris Laliberte and her husband, Robert,

with.
