AUBURN – The Auburn School Committee on Wednesday unanimously approved a calendar for the 2005-06 school year. The schedule includes 175 days for students and seven in-service days for teachers.

Students in kindergarten through grade nine will start school on Wednesday, Aug. 31. High school sophomores, juniors and seniors will start Thursday, Sept. 1.

Labor Day is Sept. 5.

Most Wednesdays will continue to be half days for elementary school students.

All students will get a week and a half off around Christmas and New Year’s. There will also be weeklong vacations in the fourth week in February and the third week in April.

The last day of school is set for June 14.
