LEWISTON – The Lewiston School Committee on Monday unanimously approved a new calendar for the 2005-06 school year. The schedule includes 175 days for students and seven in-service days for teachers.

Students in kindergarten through grade nine will start school on Tuesday, Aug. 30. High school sophomores, juniors and seniors will start Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Labor Day is Sept. 5.

Students will get a week and a half off around Christmas and New Year’s. There will also be weeklong vacations in the fourth week in February and the third week in April.

The last day of school is set for June 13.
