AUBURN – The Mary Dillingham Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will honor six area high school seniors and their parents at a meeting at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at the Court Street Baptist Church.
The students are winners of the DAR Good Citizens Award and the DAR Good Citizenship Medal.
They have been chosen by their respective schools for outstanding citizenship, honesty, courage, service, leadership and patriotism.
The Good Citizens Award also provides the opportunity for the student to participate in an essay contest, for which scholarships are presented on state and national levels. The DAR Good Citizen is chosen by the students and faculty of public or private accredited schools.
This year’s DAR Good Citizens are Devin Myles, Leavitt Area High School, son of Linda Myles of Turner; Elise Michelle Boutin, Buckfield Junior Senior High School, daughter of Michael and Denise Boutin of Canton; Hannah Lynn Giasson, Edward Little High School, daughter of Katherine Giasson of Auburn; and Brian N. Michaud, Lewiston High School, son of Norman and Debbie Michaud of Lewiston.
The DAR Good Citizenship Medal Award winners are Sarah Trexler, Leavitt Area High School, daughter of William and Carol Trexler of Turner, and Candace Marie Allen, Buckfield Junior Senior High School, daughter of Charles and Patricia Allen of Buckfield.
