LEWISTON – Information from a store clerk and others led police to a local man they say robbed the Big Apple store on Lisbon Street in early January.

Jeffrey Glover, 37, of 30 Hinkley Road, Lisbon Falls, was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday on a charge of robbery. Glover was arrested by police on Monday and charged in the Jan. 4 heist at the store on outer Lisbon Street.

Police said the suspect walked into the store about 1 a.m. and told the clerk he had a gun while demanding that she hand over cash.

After threatening to kill the clerk, the assailant ordered her into a walk-in freezer, then fled the store, investigators said.

No one was hurt in the early morning stickup. Police did not say how much money the suspect got away with.

Detectives interviewed the clerk and prepared a composite sketch of the suspect. In following days, several different leads led them to Glover as a suspect, police said. He was arrested Monday afternoon.

Glover, who once listed his address as 50 Fairmont St., Lewiston, was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.
