NEW GLOUCESTER – Pineland Farms will celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 5, by providing daylong family activities.
Visitors can help develop the new trail system, explore the trail network and take part in a stretch break before walking any of the three registered Healthy Maine Walks.
People also can bring bicycles in celebration of the grand opening of the mountain bike trails.
Sponsors Eastern Mountain Sports and Exel will participate in the day’s events. Eastern Mountain Sports representatives will participate in trail walks and provide outdoor recreational material and giveaways.
Exel representatives will teach a Nordic walking clinic, one of the fastest growing fitness trends in outdoor recreation.

• 8 a.m. Registration
• 8:30 a.m. Volunteer trail work
• 9 a.m. Mountain bike trails grand opening
• 10 a.m. Healthy Maine Walks stretch break
• 10 a.m. Nordic pole walking clinic with Exel poles
• 11 a.m. 2 p.m. Open orienteering mini clinics
The Outdoor Center is at 15 Farm View Drive.
