LISBON – The Lisbon School Committee will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new K-6 school on Mill Street at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28. Following the ceremony, sixth-graders will give tours of the $12.8 million Lisbon Community School until 3 p.m. Guests will get a firsthand look at the expanded library; the discovery room; the cafetorium, which functions as a lunch room and an auditorium; the gymnasium, lockers and shower rooms; the foreign language center; art and music rooms; computer lab; nurse’s office and administrative offices. The playground area, featuring state-of-the-art equipment, also will be open for public inspection. Refreshments will be served.
