The Hair Salon at Sears is celebrating 50 years of cutting hair by offering $3 haircuts all day Tuesday, Sept. 28. The price reflects the typical cost of a haircut back in the 1950s when Sears first introduced salons into their stores. A portion of the money raised will go to the retailer’s American Dream Campaign, which a few years ago purchased televisions for Martel School.
The Lewiston salon is getting into the swing of things by planning a malt shop theme. Manager Brigitte Whitten is encouraging stylists to wear poodle skirts, bobby socks and other ’50s-era clothes. Refreshments will be served.
Appointments can be made by calling 786-2911; walk-ins – especially wearing saddle shoes – are welcome.
