Dear Sun Spots: Some charities will advertise that they will accept cars as donations. I have a 1993 Nissan Sentra that I would like to donate, however it needs to have a state inspection sticker. The windshield wiper motor needs to be replaced to get a sticker, otherwise the car runs fine. Could you suggest a worthy charity in the L-A area that would take this car? – No Name, No Town.

You will receive a tax benefit when you donate a vehicle. Check with your tax adviser or accountant to determine the amount of your benefit.

Your car donation to Kars-4-Kids will benefit Joy for Our Youth. J.O.Y. is an international organization providing for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of distressed and at-risk youth.
