Victoria Larson, an Auburn resident and a Banknorth vice president, has been appointed to the Maine Maritime Academy’s Board of Trustees.

Larson received a master’s degree in business administration from the Naval Postgraduate School in California in 1988 and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of West Florida in 1990.

She retired as a commander in the Navy in 1999 after 19 years of service and has since worked as an adjunct instructor at Lewiston-Auburn College and as project manager at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She is vice president for technology for Banknorth in Lewiston.

Larson was appointed by Gov. John Baldacci. The Senate confirmed her appointment this week.

Her term will last five years.

Larson was one of four trustees appointed to the 13-member board. She was the only one from the area.

Maine Maritime Academy in Castine is a small, public college that offers programs in maritime studies.
