AUBURN – Fairview Elementary School will hold an auction Saturday to raise money for field trips and enrichment activities.

The three-hour live auction will include more than 140 items. Item values range from $10 to $400.

A preview of the items will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Fairview. The auction will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5 and will be available from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Friday at Fairview. They will also be sold at the door Saturday evening. Only those 16 and older will be admitted. For more information, call Stephanie Geer at 784-3559, ext. 222.

Sidewalk work starts Monday

LEWISTON – Sidewalk improvements will begin Monday, March 29, on Main Street, from Chapel to Middle streets; and on Chapel Street, from Main to Lowell streets.

At times during sidewalk construction on Main Street, the outside lane of Main Street, between Middle and Chapel streets, will be closed to traffic. In addition, one lane will be closed on Chapel Street, between Lowell and Main streets, when work is undertaken on that sidewalk.

There may be periodic delays or traffic backups, so residents may want to consider alternate routes, whenever possible.
