Two seats are open on Greene’s Board of Selectmen in Friday’s election.
Sheldon Bubier
Vows to seek lower taxes
Bubier has served on the Planning Board several times over the years. He was a SAD 52 school board director for five years and has served on the Budget Committee several times.
Keeping a close watch on spending is at the top of Bubier’s agenda.
“My main concern is property taxes. My goal is to eliminate waste in town spending and lower property taxes,” Bubier said.
Tim Doyle
Strives to keep the mill rate low
Doyle is running for his fourth term, two of which were consecutive. He has served on the Budget Committee and the Fire Department.
“I want to continue the good work I think the board has been doing,” he said. “We have an excellent relationship with our town manager. I’m hoping to keep our mill rate low. Finances have been a concern of mine the whole time I’ve been on the board.”
Ron Grant
Wants what is best for the town
Grant, a 27-year resident, is running for his third full term. He served 18 months on the board after the death of Ed Morgan in 1996.
“We’re faced with the burden of raising taxes because of the reduction of state funds,” Grant said.
“I try to vote the way I think is best for the town as a whole. We are stewards of town funds and we can’t spend any more than is appropriated at town meetings.”
