Area quilters

RUMFORD — The Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. Members should note change of time for the meeting.

A holiday tasting party will be held. Those attending are asked to bring small portions of goodies to share with the group as well as a gift for Newborns in Need. A small quilt has also been requested for donation to a charity. Show and tell items are welcome. All area quilters are invited. For more information, call 562-6050.

Society supper

MEXICO — The Mexico Historical Society will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 15, in the Calvin Lyons
room, Town Hall. A potluck supper will be held at
5:30 p.m. followed by a silent auction and an exchange of gifts. Members are asked to
bring something for the auction and gift exchange for the Christmas party. The regular meetings will start again in March with a
meeting with the Rumford Historical Society. The time and date will be set at a later date.

Jolly Christmas

MEXICO — As part of the Mexico Public Library’s “Wonderful Wednesdays”
monthly programs for kids ages 2 to 10, the library will host a “Holly
Jolly Christmas” party from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16. The party will be held at the Calvin
Lyons Hall. Included will be stories, games, crafts and goodies to
