Georgia Anna Herrick
1917 – 2009
AUBURN — Georgia Anna Herrick passed away Dec. 6, at Clover Manor, where she has resided for the past two years.
She was born in Greenwood, Aug. 27, 1917, the daughter of Mary Leonard Crockett and Charles W. Crockett. She attended Locke Mills schools before moving to the Mechanic Falls area in 1936. She married Wilmont Herrick Sr. on Nov. 20, 1937, and together they had 12 children.
She was a member of the Mechanic Falls Fireman’s Auxiliary for 25 years, the last 12 as president. She was a member of the Oxford Grange 46, Pomona 2 and State Grange. She was also president of the Tri-Town Senior Citizens and Mechanic Falls Senior Citizens.
She lived at Merrill Estates for approximately 20 years before moving to Clover Manor.
She is survived by her children, Wilmont and Ruth Herrick of Mechanic Falls, Chester and Thirza Herrick of West Bethel, Jeanette and Dale Ness of Port Charlotte, Fla., Albert Herrick of Skowhegan, Janice and Roy Biardi of Mechanic Falls, Charles Herrick of Oxford, Wayne Herrick of Augusta, Ronald and Deborah Herrick of Oxford, David and Wendy Herrick of Otisfield, Thomas Herrick of Mechanic Falls and Patricia and Robert Springer of South Paris; two sisters, Helen Farrar and Ruth Tibbetts; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Wilmont Herrick Sr; a son, Donald Herrick; two sisters, Lena and Gladys; and two brothers, Jonathan and Arthur.
