AUBURN – A school bus was evacuated during an afternoon drop-off when an Auburn Middle School student threatened to have left a bomb on board.
She later admitted to police that she lied, said Sgt. Rick Coron.
The student had been disciplined by the school bus driver on the way home and made to sit in the front of the bus.
“On her way out, she said, ‘You better hurry up, there’s a bomb on the bus,'” Coron said.
The bus had stopped on Hotel Road, near the intersection of Sandy Beach Road.
Students were evacuated and brought home on another bus. The bus was scanned briefly after the student confessed, he said.
An investigation is pending.
