PORTLAND (AP) – A former junior high school teacher in Gorham has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse and assault charges stemming from his contact with a female student.

Timothy Fogg, 36, received a two-year sentence with all but six months suspended Tuesday in Cumberland County Superior Court.

Court documents reveal inappropriate sexual contact with a 14-year-old student during the fall of 2001, when Fogg taught at Charles Shaw Middle School. The eighth-grade teacher resigned in December 2002.

Fogg was ordered to pay $5,000 toward counseling for the victim.

He will serve four years probation, receive psychological counseling and be placed on the state’s sex-offender registry.
