This is only the second time I have ever written a letter to the editor of the Sun Journal, but I just can’t take Steve Turner’s outlook on what Jesus would do if he came down from the cross (letter, Sept. 8). I find his “Jesus” views offensive to the current medical care that is given even here in Lewiston and Auburn.
If Jesus were to come down from the cross today, I believe he would be taken to one of the two excellent hospitals, be properly treated for his wounds, give the hospital personal information so that the hospital could seek payment from some source for the excellent care he received and than sent on his way.
I also believe his first trip would be to the nearest planned parenthood center and inquire about their reasoning on encouraging the massive number of abortions performed these days.
I would never put words in Jesus’ mouth about how he might judge these people and organizations, but I will end with a quote of his from the St. James American Bible: “It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend (abort) one of these little ones.”
Something to think about.
