Eric Brakey should find a worthwhile campaign to work on, as his is so desperately devoid of issues that might matter to the majority of people.
The report of his attack on Sen. Angus King’s 9/11 speech (Sept. 12) demonstrates that Brakey’s campaign is merely partisan, something people don’t need any more of.
What people need is civic leadership, not partisan leadership. While Brakey could be working on a noble cause for the benefit of the many, like universal health care, fairer wages, civil rights, economic development, or community safety, instead, he insists on scampering to Samuel Johnson’s “last resort of scoundrels.”
If Brakey wants to feel patriotic, maybe he should seek enlistment in the Marine Corps instead of contributing to “all that mess in Washington.”
Brakey’s “cam-pain” compares poorly with Angus King’s proven sagacity and civic-mindedness.
