Exactly what does it take to discover the city of Auburn? Maybe an upcoming census? Apparently the city has been swallowed up by some neighbors. I have taken pleasure in the fact that Auburn is a port city.

I haven’t seen any evidence of Auburn on the local television station’s weather report. Apparently the new mayor is not afraid to utter the dread word “Auburn.” Maybe the city should publish a little notice that it does exist, in case some industry wanted to settle in this lovely enclave. Or run one of those “guess where” photos.

I write this in the spirit of levity. I’m not sniping at Auburn’s sister city of Lewiston.
