This is in response to “A need for Islamic banking practices,” which appeared in the Sun Journal Dec. 13.

Why would Androscoggin Bank change its policy on lending money without interest to the Somalis? I hope Androscoggin Bank refuses to implement the idea. If not, it will need to treat everyone in the community likewise.

The Somalis don’t deserve any special rights than any other Lewiston residents.
