BETHEL — Gutsy, striking and provocative interpretations are trademarks of the Fusionworks Dance Company.

The six-member troupe will take to the stage of Gould Academy’s Bingham Auditorium at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, courtesy of the Mahoosuc Arts Council.

Fusionworks brings humor and collaboration to pieces created by contemporary choreographers, including award-winning choreographer and artistic director Deb Meunier.

With a 20-year history as the only repertory dance company in Rhode Island, Fusionworks gives varied performances from classical ballet to modern dance. The troupe has been lauded for productions that “stretch the imagination and soothe the soul.”
Commissioned by dance companies throughout the Northeast, Meunier is known for her spirit of collaboration, which has resulted in innovative work with painters, musicians, sculptors, filmmakers and other choreographers.

Fusionworks members are Amy Bardenhagen, Amanda Del Prete, Shaun Edson, Sheramy Keegan-Turcotte, Stephanie Stanford Shaw and Karen Swiatocha.

The concert is part of the Gould Performing Arts Series.
