LIVERMORE FALLS — No one was injured Saturday evening when a train skimmed the front of a truck that nearly hadn’t stopped for the train crossing signals near Androscoggin Bank on Main Street in Livermore Falls, officer Steve Allen said.
Hope Raymond, 42, of Hartford, said she was driving north on the road and hadn’t realized the signals were flashing, Allen said.
When she looked up and saw that they were activated, she tried to throw the vehicle in reverse before the train struck the vehicle. The train’s plow just rubbed the truck’s bumper, Allen said.
There was no damage to the train; damage to the truck was estimated to be less than $1000, he said.
