Madeline Dunfey Laplante
1929 – 2009
PITTSFIELD — Madeline (Dunfey) Laplante, 80, of Livermore Falls died Dec. 30, at the Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility.
She was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1929, in Wilton, the daughter of Richard B. Dunfey and Josie F. Kenney of Wilton.
She was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School, Class of 1949, and worked many years at Forster Manufacturing, Bass and Livermore Falls Shoe Co., where she was a sample designer.
She married Robert A. Laplante on Feb. 6, 1965, and was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Jay. She was a wonderful homemaker, loved gardening and boating with her husband. She loved cats, family, and all things Irish.
She is survived by a sister, Hope Beverly Dunfey Fournier of Jay, and her children, niece, Christine Fournier Faria of Pittsfield, niece, Colleen Fournier Levesque of Windham, nephew, Michael Fournier and niece, Celestine Fournier, both of Truckee, Calif., Timothy Fournier of Livermore Falls and niece, Frances Fournier Simoneau of Port Charlotte, Fla.; 10 great and two grandnieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Laplante Nov. 11, 2009; and two nieces, Catherine A. Fournier April 1953 and Cynthia J. Fournier Aug. 30, 1978, and on who’s birthday Madeline passed.
The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the Livermore Falls Police department and emergency response team for their kindness and assistance at their time of need. We wish to also thank the staff of Franklin Memorial Hospital and Sebasticook Valley Hospital and Health Care facilities for their loving care and kindness to Madeline. We would like to especially thank Madeline’s brother-in-law Raoul Laplante and his wife Marsha, who cared so lovingly for her cats during this difficult time. She loved you all and was so grateful.
