Ruth A. Lodge
1910 – 2010
GORHAM — Ruth A. Lodge, 99, of Day Road, Gorham, died Friday, Jan. 8, at a local nursing facility.
She was born in Jay on June 14, 1910, a daughter of Leroy N. and Nellie Wing Crafts. Educated in Jay schools, Ruth then married Edward K. Lodge in 1929. They were married for 72 years before his passing on Dec. 5, 2001.
Ruth was a homemaker all her life, and was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the North Jay Grange No. 10.
She loved the outdoors as well as gardening, sewing and cooking. Ruth loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her children, Alice Pettit of Sanitaria Spring, N.Y., Eleanor Goding of Port Orange, Fla., and Cynthia Verrill of Gorham; grandchildren, Ellen, Kris, Sharon, Katherine, Sheila, Eddie, Jennifer and Jeffrey; 17 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Beside her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Adeline Lodge, and a brother, Bradford Crafts.
