RUMFORD — Rumford Hospital and the Central Maine Medical Center College of Nursing and Health Professions will offer a free H1N1 clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, in Conference Room A on the ground floor of the hospital.

“Many people are not bothering to get vaccinated anymore,” said College of Nursing Instructor Colleen Dutile, “but they should because the virus will be around well into the spring as it was last year. The ‘scare’
may be over, but the danger is not.”

Appointments for vaccination are not necessary. The H1N1 vaccine clinic is free and open to anyone in the community regardless of age or risk status. The only people that cannot be vaccinated are those under 36 months of age, said Dutile.

Vaccinations will be
administered by CMMC College of Nursing students who are serving a clinical rotation at Rumford Hospital, supervised by Dutile.

People may call 369-1141 with questions, but it is not necessary to do so in order to attend the walk-in clinic. Those attending the clinic should park in lot A by driving between the hospital and Swift River Family Medicine to the rear of the hospital, and enter through the rear door. Attendees may also park in lot B on the east side of the hospital and enter through the Emergency Entrance.

Once inside the hospital, follow the signs to the wide corridor that leads to the conference room.
