LEWISTON — The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon program series at USM/Lewiston-Auburn at noon Friday, Feb. 12, will feature the presentation “Off the Road” by Alan Elze.
The program of photo images taken by Alan and Roberta Elze reflect their extensive trip in 2008 across the country via back roads, the “Blue Highways” of the U.S. While traveling more than 15,000 miles, their itinerary included many national parks along with more obscure landmarks.
Elze is a member of the senior college board and has taught a variety of courses over the past several years. He has an master of arts degree from the University of Rhode Island, majoring in early American history and museum science.
The Senior College, now in its 11th year, presents the monthly noon program in the Function Room 170 at USM LAC. The cost, which includes lunch, is $7 with advance reservation or $8 at the door, opening at 11:30 a.m. Reservations must be made no later than noon Thursday, Feb. 11, by phone at 753-6510. Any late callers will be considered as at the door.
