SOUTH PARIS — The Child Health Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County gathered at the First Congregational Church for a Christmas party recently. Eslyn Gonzalez organized and hosted the event with help from her daughter and a small group of volunteers. The celebration was a time for “Bigs” and “Littles” to meet each other and enjoy spending time together.
Attendees decorated cookies, played games and the matches had their pictures taken and framed. Santa Claus attended the event and delivered gifts.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs need more volunteer Big Brothers and Big Sisters to be a friend to youth in the community. There are more than 30 “Littles” who are waiting for their own “Big.”
The annual fundraiser, Bowl For Kids’ Sake, will take place on Saturday, March 20, at Hobb’s Lucky Lanes. To join, form a team of four bowlers, register the team to bowl during one of the designated time slots and raise a minimum of $35 in pledges each bowler.
