Richmond 43, Rangeley 32

RANGELEY — Freshman center Jamie Plummer recorded a game-high 14 points to lead Richmond to a 43-32 victory over Rangeley in EWC girls’ basketball action Friday.

The Lakers (10-6) took a 23-20 lead in a competitive first half. But, they were unable to generate much offense in the second stanza. Sophomore forward Chantal Carrier tossed a team-high 13 points and hauled down eight rebounds for Rangeley.

Senior guard Megan DeRaps contributed 11 points as the Bobcats (14-2) outpaced Rangeley in the second half.

Gray-New Gloucester 59, Poland 38

GRAY — Senior center Kassie Wilson tossed a game-high 15 points to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 59-38 victory over Poland in WMC girls’ basketball action Friday.

In an otherwise competitive contest, the Patriots (11-5) used a 23-4 run in the third quarter to put the Knights (1-15) away. Senior forward Laura Getchell contributed 14 points, while junior guard Meghan Dehetre chipped in with 10 points.

Morgan Copp netted five field goals, including three from 3-point range, to secure a team-high 13 points for Poland in the losing effort.

Leavitt 54, Gardiner 37

GARDINER — Freshman guard Kristen Anderson and junior guard Courtney Anderson recorded a combined 33 points to power Leavitt to a 54-37 victory over Gardiner in KVAC girls’ basketball action Friday.

The Hornets (15-1) pressed hard on defense in the first half, converting most of the turnovers into points for a 29-5 lead at intermission.

The Tigers (4-11) were able to pick up the pace in the second half when Leavitt toned down their defense for a half court man-to-man strategy. Junior center Kelly Macomber led Gardiner with 11 points.

Oak Hill 49, Lincoln 30

WALES — Sophomores Jess Roberts and Darby Beaulieu scored career highs of 16 and 14 points respectively, steering Oak Hill to a 49-30 victory over Lincoln Academy in a girls’ basketball game Friday.

The Raiders (9-7) hopped out to a 26-12 lead at halftime and never looked back. Roberts made good on four 3-pointers. Maggie Sabine also added 10 points for Oak Hill. Laura Soohey scored the team-high seven points for Lincoln.

TOPSHAM – Adrienne LeDuc scored 18 points to send Mt. Ararat to a 63-31 triumph over Lewiston in a girls’ basketball game Friday.

Atong Reyak led the Blue Devils (0-16) with nine points.

Morse 48, EL 40

BATH – Morse overcame a three-point halftime deficit and broke it open in the final three minutes for a 48-40 girls’ basketball victory over Edward Little on Friday in KVAC action.

The Eddies (12-4) lost their fourth consecutive game.

Edward Little overcame a six-point deficit after one quarter to grab a 20-17 lead by halftime. The Red Eddies limited Morse to two points in the quarter.

With three minutes remaining, Morse led 36-32, but EL could not close the gap further.

Karra Burr led Morse (12-4) with 13 points. Francesca Lally scored 13 points and Kayla Cummings added 10 for EL.

Hampden 44, Mt. Blue 36

FARMINGTON – Winless Mt. Blue saw a fourth-quarter lead evaporate as Hampden fought back to escape with a 44-36 victory over the Cougars in a KVAC girls’ basketball game.

The visiting Broncos (11-6) took command in the first quarter with a 15-8 run, but Mt. Blue’s defense clamped dpwn and limited the Brincos to three points in the second quarter for a 19-18 halftime lead. The lead grew to 30-27 after three quarter before Hampden’s comeback.

Katelyn DeRaps led Hampden with 15 points, while Helene Sherburne added 10. Mt. Blue (0-17) was led by Jenna Pederson with 12 points and Jillian Perron, who fonoshed with eight points.
