MEXICO — Mailboxes at two neighboring homes on Roxbury Road were destroyed by acid bombs around 11 p.m. Monday, police said. No one was hurt.
The bombs were made of household chemicals, Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said, and he is following several leads. The boxes were valued at $100.
Destruction of mailboxes is a federal crime. The United States Postal Service will be involved in the investigation, along with the Mexico Police Department, he said.
Hodsdon said a similar incident occurred last summer, but no suspect was charged.
