The Mechanic Falls American Legion Auxiliary 150 collected boxes of items for veterans in Afghanistan. The post members and Legion Riders pitched to help pack the boxes. Some of the items included lip balm, foot powder, healing cream and hand warmers. A lot of goodies were also sent, such as hard candy, packages of crackers and cookies, tea bags, coffee and lemonade. Hygiene items were also included. The boxes were sent to a veteran known to members of the post or families and then passed out to members of the company. Pictured with the items, from left, are Judy Arris, Arlene Pierce, Department of Maine Americanism Chairwoman Edith Lemieux, Julie Rowe, President Linda Kimball, Sandy Emery and Lori Hart.
