ANDOVER — The Oxford County Republicans kicked off the 2010 caucus season on Feb. 6, at the First Congregational Church of Andover.
The towns of Andover and Roxbury met to elect Republican Town Committee officers, elect delegates and alternates to the state convention in May, nominate County Committee members and ratify by-laws.
Justin Thacker, Republican candidate for House District 92, addressed the group with a call for a change of direction in Augusta. Gubernatorial candidates Bill Beardsley, Bruce Polequin, Les Otten and Jessica James, representing Steve Abbott, also addressed the crowd. They each outlined their plans to set Maine on a new course to prosperity and a return to fiscally responsible policies and programs.
Consolidated caucuses for other areas will be held throughout February. For more information, contact a local Republican Town Chairman or Loretta Mikols, Oxford County Republicans communication director, at [email protected].
