David A. Burnham

1940 – 2010

LEWISTON — David A. Burnham Sr., 69, a resident of Church Hill Road, Leeds, died Monday, Feb. 15, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born July 14, 1940, in Leeds, the son of Verrill R. and Carolin (Tripp) Burnham. He attended school in Leeds and was a 1958 graduate of Monmouth Academy. He celebrated his 50th Class Reunion in 2008.

On June 2, 1961, he married Faith Lee Emerson in Gardiner. He worked at Livermore Shoe in Livermore Falls, as a machinist for IP, Androscoggin Mill in Jay for 23 years, and for the Oak Hill School Department in Wales, for 10 years. He was a member of the Leeds Nazarene Church; he enjoyed cooking and wood working.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Faith Burnham of Leeds; a son, David A. Burnham Jr. and his companion, Linda Tripp, of Norway; a sister, Ruth Gaghon of Skowhegan; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Lena Burnham in 1925 and Eunice Burnham in 1946; and a brother, Clyde Burnham in 2006.
