Cecile G. Croteau
1938 – 2010
LEWISTON — Cecile G. Croteau, 71, of 14 Mt. Hope Ave., Lewiston, passed away at Central Maine Medical Center on Wednesday, Feb. 17, after a long illness and with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 15, 1938, the daughter of Olivier and Jeannette Nadeau Saucier. Educated locally, she was a graduate of St. Dominic High School, Class of 1956. On Oct. 11, 1968, she married Raymond H. Croteau, and they made their home in Lewiston.
She was employed for many years as a bank teller, retiring from TD Banknorth at the age of 65. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she also belonged to the Patronesses of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, and the Ladies of St. Anne. Her joy in life was spending time with her husband and her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband of Lewiston, she is survived by three daughters, Patricia and husband, Donald Raymond, of Lancaster, Pa., Deborah and husband, George Copeland, of East Petersburg, Pa., and Laurie and husband, Mark Ramsay, of Turner; a son, Raymond Jr. and wife, Nicole, of Cumberland; a sister, Rita and husband, Paul Dube, of Lewiston; two brothers, Paul Saucier and wife, Gwen, of Wilmington, Del., and Normand Saucier and wife, Dorothy, of Cambridge, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Nissa Bissonnette, Nacomi Bissonnette, Michael Goodwin, Joshua Copeland, Courtney Goodwin, Rebecca Copeland, Jacob Goodwin and Madison Croteau; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Heaven, and Titan.
She was predeceased by her mother and father; stepfather, Armand Anctil; a sister, Jeannine Dubois; and a grandson, Brian Raymond.
The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful care she recieved from the CMMC nursing staff.
