The Jesus Party celebrated the month of February as Black History Month with a three-day event from Feb. 16 to 18. Artist and illustrator Ray Jacqmin and doll maker Bertha Jacqmin of Lewiston were asked to display their talents to the children. Ray shared an oil painting and explained that when all the colors are put together they make something beautiful. Bertha shared a variety of African American dolls that she has created and named. Bertha is pictured holding two of her homemade dolls. Over a period of 10 years she has made 3,228 dolls, held doll-making classes and even traveled to give presentations. Many of the dolls have made their way to several countries.
