Society speaker
WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at the North Waterford Museum. The building will be open at 6:30 p.m. so that work done at the museum can be seen.
The speaker will be Merle Ring, Maine Forest Service district forester for Oxford County. He is also president of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine. Potluck refreshments will follow the meeting.
Society to meet
WEST PARIS — The West Paris Historical Society will meet on Monday, Aug. 17, with a potluck supper starting at 6 p.m.
A quick meeting will follow at 7, then members will look over the articles remaining from the recent yard sale. For more information, call Betty Jones at 674-2507.
Guest minister
NORWAY — The Second Congregational Church, UCC, will welcome the Rev. John P. Ellis as guest minister at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 16. Ellis served for many years as minister of the Second Congregational Church and currently serves a congregation in Auburn.
Special music will be provided by Joyce and Kelsey Franklin. Fellowship time will follow the service in the Cummings area of the church.
