1. I like being out there and helping people, and I think I could do a good job representing the people of Dixfield, Canton, Peru, Carthage and Mexico. I’m also interested in preserving the quality of life in Maine. I will come to the table with a positive attitude and an open mind.

2. We must balance budgets and help local governments with subsidizing schools and providing property tax relief without losing services. We have a quality of life in this area that is good and I want to make sure it stays that way. Also, senior citizens need our support and help, as do our children who deserve a quality education.

3. TABOR is too extreme and won’t solve anything. It failed in Colorado because it cut too many services and made government more complicated. TABOR would override LD 1 and its goal to provide 55 percent state funding for K-12 schools.

4. I support anti-discrimination legislation because everybody should be treated equally and fairly regardless of race, creed or sexual orientation. On the abortion issue, I think that it’s up to the woman and the father medically and morally to make the decision to meet her needs. It’s a private matter.

5. Dirigo Health reform has increased access for Mainers to quality health care and reduced the growth of costs. It isn’t perfect, and there should be a bipartisan approach to making it better because some people complain that costs are still too high.
