Retired educators
FRYEBURG — The Oxford County Education Association – Retired will meet on Friday, March 19, at the Fryeburg New Church, 12 Oxford St. The social time will start at 10:30 a.m. and the business meeting will begin at 11.
The afternoon program will be on Maine Fisheries and Wildlife. The scholarship fundraiser will be a book sale. All retired teachers and support personnel are welcome. If not on a phone tree, call 743-7677 to reserve a lunch.
Worship service
SOUTH PARIS — All are welcome to Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, on Sunday, March 21, the fifth Sunday in Lent. Sunday School will start at 9 a.m. and worship service will begin at 10:15 a.m. followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship. All children and adults are invited.
Clothing center
HARTFORD — The Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will be open from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3. The center is located on Church Street, directly opposite the Hartford Community Church.
Group to meet
STONEHAM — The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861- 1865, Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19, will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, in the Community Room. A light supper will be served.
Thrift shop
SOUTH PARIS — The Thrifty Gift Shop, 659 Park St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Easter baskets will be for sale for all ages, including adults. The shop has a variety of items including a clearance sale table each week.
Income from the shop will support the Families in Crisis Task Force outreach office as well as the food pantry. Donations and volunteers are welcome. For further information, call Peggy at 357-7072.
Church speaker
SUMNER — The Rev. Gary Bragg will be the guest speaker at the Congregational Church of East Sumner on Sunday, March 21. The service will start at 9 a.m. and will be followed by refreshments and a sermon discussion for those who wish to participate.
