NEWRY – Rowdies running amok at the Sunday River ski area were setting off smoke bombs Sunday night prompting a police response.
A state police trooper was dispatched to the area at about 10 p.m. to help the security forces after a staff vehicle was reportedly taken by one or more of the rowdies.
A dispatcher at the Gray barracks said “kids running rampant” at the resort area had been setting off smoke bombs.
She said the trooper was assigned to help the private security staff there deal with the situation.
