AUBURN — Police said a teenager found a baggie of pot among his candy after trick-or-treating on Halloween.
Interim Police Chief Jason Moen said Thursday someone reported to his department that “a 13-year-old had discovered a small amount of marijuana in their bag” Thursday morning.
The teen had been going door to door in the area of Auburn Middle School on Wednesday night, Moen said.
“We believe that this is an isolated incident as we haven’t received any other reports like this,” he said.
Police are seeking information about the incident from anybody who has any knowledge of similar activity.
According to published reports, a Lewiston man said his fiancee’s daughter had discovered the marijuana in her bag before turning it over to police.
The incident remains under investigation.
Lewiston police and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said they had received no reports of marijuana in treat bags.
