Nine local high school students have graduated from Teens with Heart for Hospice, a special volunteer program of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice established in 2008. The teens received eight hours of training and have begun to provide volunteer support for the Program for Grieving Children and Teens and the AHCH Hospice House in Auburn. In addition, they are assisting with preparations for the second annual Hospice House 5K and Remembrance Walk scheduled for Sunday, May 23. They also are prepared to create video memory DVDs for patients and families, assist at AHCH’s memorial services for hospice patients and help in the office. Anne Behnke, Teens with Heart chair, and Nancy Greene, AHCH volunteer coordinator, led the training. Pictured in front, from left are Monique LaBerge, Behnke; second row, Kaylynn Levasseur, Katie Fraser, Melissa Brown; third row, Taysir Mohammed, Ikram Ibrahim; back, Tyler Hartman, Camden Martin and Rahma Ibrahim.
