BETHEL – The Mahoosuc Community Band will perform two spring concerts, the first Saturday, May 8, at the Rumford Municipal Building and the second Sunday, May 16, at the West Parish Congregational Church. The 7 p.m. concerts include a variety of styles and pieces, among them “Stephen Foster Fantasy,” arranged by James Burden; “Shenandoah,” “Chicago,” arrangement of the pop band’s music, “The King Across the Water” featuring the percussion of Jim Chandler, Scott Hynek and Lyn Arizzi, “The Water is Wide” arranged by Rick Kirby and other favorites.
The band, directed by Patricia Boyle-Wight, is preparing for the summer, with Memorial Day parades, Mollyockett Day (July 17th) parade and concert, and end-of-summer concert, Aug, 16 at Gould Academy Bingham Hall in Bethel.
The band rehearses at 7 p.m., Mondays at the West Parish Congregational Church. New members are always welcome.
